The academy
Stoic Martial Arts is a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu academy in Chanhassen, Minnesota, with adult Gi and No-Gi BJJ, kids Jiu Jitsu and Ninja Fit, boxing, and Muay Thai. Our motto is progress, not perfection — small steps create big changes.
Train without ego is our house rule. We drill control, position and staying calm under pressure, and we build training partners, not casuals. Everyone signs our waiver and code of conduct, which keeps the room safe and welcoming.
Led by Experience
Our Chanhassen martial arts academy is led by Mason Ryan, a 2017 Alliance black belt and lifelong martial artist with over 30 years of expertise in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Submission Grappling, MMA, and Muay Thai. Alongside him, our elite coaching staff is committed to helping you succeed at every stage of your journey. His formative training came at the Academy with Greg Nelson, Tom Schmitz of Spartan, and Damian Hirtz of Alliance. Over the years he's trained with the likes of Sean Sherk, Dave Menne, Brad Kohler, Erik Paulson, and multiple BJJ world champions.
